When families explore senior living communities, care, safety, and location are important considerations. But so is everyday life. At Plattduetsche Home Society, senior living amenities provide opportunities to stay active, connect with others, enjoy the outdoors, and continue favorite interests. Together, these everyday experiences help create a welcoming environment where residents can feel comfortable, engaged, and at home.
Staying Active with Fitness and Recreation

An active lifestyle can support physical and emotional well-being at any age. Residents have convenient access to newly renovated gyms and a heated indoor pool, both of which are used nearly every day for fitness, aquatic programming, and recreation. Additional fitness and recreational amenities include:
- A recently renovated hot tub and spa
- Outdoor shuffleboard and bocce ball courts
- Fitness and wellness programming
- Activities designed for different interests and abilities
Together, these spaces make it easier for residents to incorporate movement, recreation, and relaxation into their routines.
Spaces to Gather, Relax, and Connect

Multiple libraries, comfortable common areas, dining rooms, game and activity spaces, and an interdenominational chapel give residents places to read, visit with friends, enjoy meals, participate in programs, or simply relax.
The West Wing game hall offers another place for recreation, while the Home Party Room and Great Room accommodate larger gatherings, volunteer activities, group games, parties, and special programs. The activity room is also currently being renovated as part of continued improvements to the community.
Activities with Purpose

A full recreational calendar provides activities throughout the day, giving residents the freedom to participate according to their interests.
Programming may include:
- Fitness and aquatic activities
- Arts, crafts, music, and games
- Social gatherings and special events
- Volunteer opportunities
- Spiritual and cognitive programming
Therapeutic recreation is an important part of this approach. Programs are designed to support the physical, social, emotional, spiritual, and cognitive aspects of wellness, helping residents remain connected, engaged, and involved.
Beautiful Grounds to Enjoy Year-Round

Plattduetsche Home Society sits on seven acres of serene, park-like grounds in Franklin Square, with mature trees, manicured lawns, gardens, a picturesque gazebo, pavilion, and outdoor gathering areas where residents can enjoy the outdoors throughout the year.
Everyday Comfort and Support
Beyond recreation, residents may have access to housekeeping, dining, transportation, security, case management, and personal support services depending on their living arrangement. Plattduetsche Home Society offers both an Adult Home for those who benefit from additional support and Enriched Housing for independent seniors seeking the convenience of community living.
The community also continues to invest in its facilities. Along with the renovated gyms and hot tub/spa and improvements to the activity room, renovation of the East Wing has begun.
More Than Amenities: A Place to Call Home

The value of senior living amenities is ultimately found in how they contribute to residents’ everyday lives. Assistant Director of Recreation Rebecca Proscia sees that impact firsthand:
“The amenities Plattduetsche Home Society offers are unmatched in the senior living world. Our residents live enriched, joyful, and fulfilling lives with the support and resources we provide. I am lucky to be able to share the many quality services our residents love as part of our team.”
Together, comfortable spaces, engaging programs, supportive services, and beautiful grounds help residents maintain their independence, enhance their overall well-being, and enjoy an active, connected quality of life.
